The Triumph of “Rock The Runway”: Rocky Gathercole
Showcases Stellar Designs To Raise Funds For Street Children

HOLLYWOOD, CA, August 3, 2016 – Avalon, one of Hollywood’s best and most historic landmarks that hosted the first West Coast performance of The Beatles in 1964 and voted Best Dance Club by LA Weekly last year, pulsated with theatrical excitement, imagination, energy and magic as avant-garde Filipino designer Rocky Gathercole unveiled his electrifying collection before hundreds last Thursday at “Rock The Runway”, a fashion fundraiser for Bantay Bata (Child Watch), an ABS-CBN Foundation International program for abused children.

Presented by Lifestyle Network in cooperation with For The Stars Fashion House, “Rock The Runway” drew enthusiastic support not only from Filipino Americans but from the larger Los Angeles community as well.  Hosted by award-winning actor Dante Basco and Emmy-winning writer-producer Keesa Ocampo and directed by award-winning concert, TV and film director John-D Lazatin, the show also delivered strong live musical performances from cellist Matthew John Ignacio, versatile performer Francesca Camus and two-man rock band The Dose with Indio Downey and Ralph Alexander.

The on-site multimedia experience and otherworldy designs of Gathercole drew oohs and ahhs from the nattily dressed crowd. The soul of the show is the journey of Gathercole from an abused street kid to world-class designer now giving back to abused children in the Philippines.  Yong Chavez of TFC Balitang America’s “Showbiz Tonight” gave a full report entitled, “Former Street Kid Stages Show For Bantay Bata”  http://www.balitangamerica.tv/former-street-kid-stages-show-for-bantay-bata/
